Southwest Minnesota State University is now offering a 2+2 distance learning option for getting a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. SMSU has established articulation agreements with nine community/technical colleges across Minnesota, and these agreements allow the associate degrees from those schools to transfer into SMSU and count toward the B.S. degree. The majority of the B.S. classes will be online, with perhaps some on-campus classes required at the local community/technical college. For more information, contact the T.E.A.C.H. Rasmussen’s Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education degree program is offered all on-line. They also have 3 new specializations:
Mesabi Range Community & Technical College now has a hybrid CDA program which is offered for ten college credits. The name of the certificate is Child Care Competency Certificate. This program will meet the training requirements for the CDA.
Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota now has a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education

T.E.A.C.H. scholarships can also pay for credit-bearing coursework and fees leading toward the accumulation of the 120 hours of training required to earn a CDA credential at participating colleges and universities.
