Child Care Resource & Referral Services (CCR&Rs)
Ensuring the availability of high-quality care in Minnesota is
a matter of education. The Child Care Resource & Referral
community throughout Minnesota works to educate parents about their child care options, offers continuing education to
child care providers and strives to inform the community at
large regarding child caring issues.
CCR&R is a trusted resource for parents
- 35,394 parents received child care referrals and
information on quality through our personalized
phone service or through mnchildcare.org.
- 6,235 special outreach referrals targeted the
unique child care needs of low income families.
- 97 percent of families using CCR&R services would
recommend CCR&R services to other people
who need similar assistance.
- 96 percent of families using CCR&R services feel they
have improved their ability to search for child care.

- 97 percent of providers surveyed rate their local
CCR&R staff’s respect for them as an individual as

CCR&R provides professional development
- 1,737 trainings and conferences were sponsored
or cosponsored by CCR&R.
- 24,875 child care professionals attended trainings
and individual conference sessions.

CCR&R is a trusted source for
continuing education
- 85 percent of family child care providers reported
receiving some or all of their training over the
past two years from CCR&R.
- At nearly all center-based programs, schoolbased
programs and preschools, managers
report encouraging their staff to use or attend
CCR&R trainings.
CCR&R provides grants
- Over $2 million was delivered in grants to improve
quality in child care by allowing providers to improve
their programs and keep their businesses viable.
