Making sense of changes underway
within the Professional Development System

It is a time of great change for professional development in Minnesota and for our entire field nationally. Although there is much we don’t yet know about specific details of the professional development system redesign in Minnesota, we have a conceptual framework in place that addresses the critical elements necessary for an effective system.  We’d like to offer some talking points on why our state is undertaking such a redesign and the national context which has lead our community here.....READ MORE

Surge Support Child Care Project Update

The Surge Support Child Care Project is a National model of respite child care to support the children of deployed Army National Guard and Army Reserve service members. With funding from the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies and the Department of Defense this project provides families with a list of licensed child care providers and centers in the state of Minnesota that will offer free child care services for a few hours or a few days per month to the families who are affected by deployment. ...READ MORE

Sharing the Wisdom of Many Voices Conference

The eleventh annual “Sharing the Wisdom of Many Voices” Conference offered over 30 training sessions to trainers, leaders, directors and administrators this year. Keynote speaker “Sue Lindgren” shared her wisdom on the subjects of leading, managing and coaching; “Stevie’s Rays Improv Company” was better than the “Buck a Laugh” that was charged for the entrance to the social event and the four dinner meetings that were offered to participants were very well attended! ...READ MORE
