Sharing the Wisdom of Many Voices

The eleventh annual “Sharing the Wisdom of Many Voices” Conference offered over 30 training sessions to trainers, leaders, directors and administrators this year. Keynote speaker “Sue Lindgren” shared her wisdom on the subjects of leading, managing and coaching; “Stevie’s Rays Improv Company” was better than the “Buck a Laugh” that was charged for the entrance to the social event and the four dinner meetings that were offered to participants were very well attended!

The Minnesota Early Childhood and School Age Trainers Association’s Annual Meeting offered updates and plans for the future of the organization to its members during breakfast. This years meeting ended with a memorial presentation created by MECSATA’s Board President which was a wonderful tribute to a great trainer, leader and friend, Judy Lindman.

A luncheon on the second day of the conference provided an opportune time to extend the yearly trainer and leader awards. This year the recipient of the “Margaret Van Hatten” Trainer Award was given to Sue Baldwin who has been an outstanding trainer that has provided adult learners with many years of training and educational opportunities.  The Distinguished Leader of the Year Award was presented to Cindy Croft in recognition of her outstanding contributions as an individual who provides leadership in the early childhood and school age care field.

The fundraising sub-committee was busy this year contacting companies and organizations to ask for donations and to find resources to help defray the costs of the conference. The social hour comedy group offered their talents for the mere amount of $100 and the Schwan’s Company provided attendees of the conference with a refreshing treat on our second day of the conference!

Be sure to watch for details of the next conference/event on the MECSATA website www.mecsata.org.
