The More Things Change...

By Mary Wynne

You know that old saying “the more things change, the more they stay the same”, well, here at the Minnesota CCR&R Network, we have an alternate saying, “the more things change, the more things change.” Change is definitely a constant when it comes to all things having to do with professional development these days, and the Network is working hard to keep pace and be responsive to those changes. One of the most important changes we have made is to create a more coordinated, cross-functional professional development department. We are not only utilizing the skills, experiences and talents of our team more wisely, we are working together more collaboratively so that all of our professional development initiatives are better served. Click here to read more about each position.

So what can you expect from us? The Network PD Department team is committed to providing you with excellent support, timely communication and being responsive to your needs. Between now and June, 2007, we will provide:

  • Quarterly “Trainer News” newsletters which will include: the latest professional development news for all trainers; specific content or program related information; notices of upcoming events/opportunities; and research/resources.

  • Monthly online chat discussions – Anywhere you can have access to an Internet connection, you can join in a lively discussion on a number of engaging topics with your fellow trainers! Each chat discussion will be guided by an experienced Network staff facilitator, but it will be your questions, comments and ideas that will create a rich discussion. Click here to read more about the next few scheduled chats!

  • Interactive, face to face discussions about upcoming CCR&R training delivery changes via CCR&R district-sponsored training meetings. Network staff will be coming to a community near you – we look forward to seeing you!

  • Miscellaneous e-mail updates – as news breaks or events are approaching, expect to see an e-mail in your in-box!

We hope these supports will enable you to stay informed, stay engaged and continue to provide the leadership you do for early childhood and school-age care field. If you have any suggestions or feedback for us, please feel free to e-mail Julie at juliew@mnchildcare.org . Thank you for all that you do!
