Not By Chance Child Care that
Supports
School Readiness Updates

  • Starting December 1, 2006 Special Projects Coordinator, Katy Chase will be the new Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Association Executive Director. She wishes you well and hopes to continue working with you in other capacities.

  • The third level of NBC training has arrived. Quality in Practice classes are being offered beginning in January 2007. Each class covers one tool with eight hours of series training. Qualified instructors were trained over the summer. There are two incentives for taking this eight hour course. One, the hours will give qualified participants an extra point towards the R.E.E.T.A.I.N. grant. Two, the first 100 participants to complete the course and turn in their application will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to Kaplan Early Learning as part of the Applause Program. Professional Development Coordinators will provide the application to in depth instructors for distribution at the last session.

  • Remember that Not by Chance Tools to Create Quality (formally known as Awareness) class participants can earn college credit from Central Lakes College , Pine Technical College or Metropolitan State College. Contact the Special Projects Coordinator if you do not have the handouts for this.

  • All courses in the NBC curriculum have new marketing copy. Contact the Special Projects Coordinator if you do not have it.

  • Hold the evening of April 27, 2007 for a special Not by Chance dinner and professional development session at the Sharing the Wisdom of Many Voices Conference. When registering, let Julie Wasiluk know you are a NBC trainer to receive your conference discount, overnight (double occupancy) if traveling more than 75 miles one way, and free dinner. We hope to see you there.
